Match Report - Sheffield United U17 v Tottenham Hotspur U17 - 24 Aug 2002

U17 Academy South

FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Sheffield United U17s 1-2 Spurs

Ricky Dobson caused havoc from corners to make sure we returned from the Steel City with maximum points.

Chances were few and far between in an even first half before we struck 10 minutes into the second half. Dobson attacked Owen Price's corner and Michael Malcolm buried the loose ball.

Blades responded with 20 minutes left and the home side got on top for a spell before the Dobson-Price corner combination paid dividends again with seven minutes left - this time the defender's header nestled home for the winner.

Boss Jimmy Neighbour reflected: "The boys did well, especially considering it was their first game.

"It was a tough start but they showed plenty of resilience, which was a great sign. We created one or two chances as well, so it went pretty well for us."

Spurs U17s: Eyre, Ifil, Jenkins, McKenna (Lee, 80), Hodges, Dobson, Price, Hicks (Francis, 80), Malcolm, Watson, Ahmed. Unused subs: Eade, Welch.
