Masterchef's Gregg Wallace drops in at the Lane

Fri 04 July 2014, 11:00|Tottenham Hotspur

MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace joined Executive Boxholders for an exclusive food and drink tasting event at the Lane as we unveiled our exquisite new menu for the 2014-2015 season.

During the event, Gregg spent time sampling the culinary delights on offer and chatting to the Club’s Executive Members, giving away a few tricks of the trade when it comes to quality food.

Guests sampled dishes including ‘The London Sausage’; gourmet burgers; tea smoked duck with sesame snow; liquorice cured salmon and orange sherbet; rump of beef pave with triple cooked chips; inca tomato; grilled wild mushroom and green peppercorn sauce; oven roast duck breast, duck leg croquette, spiced greens and blackberry jus; white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake with crystallised lavender and walnut and chocolate tart with banana bavoir.

A long-standing supporter of local produce, the Club works closely with its caterers, Centerplate UK, in sourcing 95% of all ingredients from the local area, with almost all dishes prepared fresh on-site.

Foods are all supplied from producers based less than 20 miles from the Club, including bread, fish, meat, cheese, craft beers and soft drinks. Fresh vegetables are sourced from a local farm in Kent delivering a variety of seasonal produce to complement dishes.

Using local suppliers to deliver food and drink goods to the stadium demonstrates the Club’s commitment to delivering the highest-standard of catering to Executive Members, whilst supporting local businesses within the industry.

Commenting at the event, Gregg Wallace said: “You know what’s really funny about this, I’m thinking of myself and if I had a box here, I really just don’t know what menu I would choose.

“This is the healthiest, tastiest food I have ever seen outside of a smart London restaurant.”

Andy O’Sullivan, Director of Hospitality at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, said: “It was great to have such a well-respected industry professional like Gregg here today, we hope he enjoyed sampling the menus as much as our guests.

“This season we have upped-the-ante in terms of quality of food and drink on offer to Executive Members, to deliver the best traditional dining experience possible here at White Hart Lane.

“It’s important to support local farmers, butchers, bakers and businesses in the area which is why the majority of the produce used by our catering and hospitality teams are sourced from local suppliers - most of which are less than 20 miles away from the stadium. We look forward to welcoming our executive members to a new season and new exquisite menu here at Spurs.”

Combining the great game of football with matchday hospitality, there are still a few Executive Boxholder Membership options available, all of which include catering options from this season’s new menu.
