March Hotspur - out now!

There is a big German influence in the March issue of Hotspur magazine with new signing Lewis Holtby interviewed and coach Steffen Freund busy answering questions from readers.

January arrival Lewis is well aware of the impression that the likes of Steffen and Jurgen Klinsmann left here after their playing days and knows all about the commitment and enthusiasm that both brought to training and games.

Of Klinsmann he says: "Jurgen was a very hard worker. I’ve trained under Heiko Herrlich, who played with him, and every time Heiko spoke to the attacking players he said that the biggest influence on him was Jurgen Klinsmann because in every single training session he wanted 40-50 crosses onto his head.

“He was so dedicated to score every goal. I’ve seen a lot of his games from the past and his dedication, his running, his passion for the game...they were all absolutely fantastic. That’s why Jurgen and Steffen both fitted in here.

“The Premier League is all about passion, chasing the ball, winning every ball, just being there on the spot. These guys are big role models.

“I like the physical side of English football. It’s good to be exhausted after every game because then you know you have worked very hard.”

And one lucky reader will walk away in a pair of Holtby’s signed match boots in our latest free-to-enter competition.

Meanwhile, Steffen is also talking about goals - although mainly the fact that he famously failed to score one for Spurs in a competitive game!

He steps up to answer questions on all subjects - including his excited celebrations from the sidelines, mullets, moustaches, Strictly Come Dancing and who would win a tackle between him and Sandro!

Gareth Bale steps up for the High Fives challenge as we find out more about his life off the pitch, what happened when he locked himself out of his that all important parrot question! And Wales rugby captain Sam Warburton recalls what Bale was like when both were at school together in Cardiff.

Jan Vertonghen answers our Box to Box questions about his early days in the game, how Mousa Dembele seems to have been with him throughout most of it – and how much he loves the banter in the Spurs dressing room.

Dembele is also interviewed with his love of West End musicals to the fore; Kyle Walker accepts that he will have to add a new dimension to his game to have the same impact as last season; Michael Dawson names his greatest ever defensive partner; and we talk to our non executive director Sir Keith Mills whose contribution to the London Olympics represented both a fantastic and enduring achievement.

We also feature Paul Gascoigne, Steffen Iversen, Joe Hulme, Jabez Darnell and Moussa Saib and catch up with the Africa Cup of Nations where Emmanuel Adebayor and Bongani Khumalo helped Togo and South Africa respectively to reach the quarter-finals.

Ossie Ardiles and Ledley King both present their own exclusive columns with Ossie focussing on what Lewis Holtby will bring to the side while Ledley looks at our strength in depth - and wonders if he’d even get a game these days!

It’s all in the March issue of Hotspur - on sale Friday! Don’t miss it!
