If you’d like to apply for one of the places send an email outlining your name, age and address along with some information about yourself and why you’d like to run the Chester Marathon to email@example.com
As an incentive the runner that raises the most amount of money for SOS Children’s Villages from their marathon fundraising will be presented with a Tottenham Hotspur Opus.
With only 1,000 copies published and costing £4,000 - £10,000 the Spurs Opus is an exclusive piece of Spurs memorabilia.
Those that successfully register as an SOS Children’s Villages team runner will be sent a Challenge Pack to help get you started with your fundraising.
Runners will also receive a monthly newsletter from the Chester Marathon Team as well as full race instructions, race number and chip timing devise two weeks prior to the race date.
The race starts and finishes at Chester Racecourse taking in Chester's 2,000 years of history, passing its iconic landmarks, then out into the stunning Cheshire and North Wales villages and countryside, before returning for a spectacular grandstand finish at the racecourse.
Since the launch of the charity partnership with SOS Children’s Villages the Club has worked with the charity on a number of initiatives, including financing the construction of the Tottenham Hotspur House in Rustenburg South Africa.
The Tottenham Hotspur House, which is uniquely and completely funded by monies received from players' fines, provides orphaned children in South Africa with a family that they can call their own. Last season the entire first team also signed up to sponsor an orphan as part of SOS’s Children’s Villages World Orphan Week campaign.
