Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The 1981 FA Cup Final may take up most of the memory bank - but it's not the only famous Spurs v Manchester City tie of recent years.

Turn the clock back almost 11 years and you'll find a mad March day at Maine Road and Nayim's greatest afternoon in a Spurs shirt.

This quarter-final was played on March 7, 1993. We had been in fine form with the attacking trio of Nicky Barmby, Teddy Sheringham and Darren Anderton clicking as we went on a five-game unbeaten run.

Unfortunately, it all came crashing down at Sheffield United, a 6-0 drubbing, and City were next, live on television.

Would Spurs be up for it? Questions were asked when City went a goal up but with Nayim inspired, we hit back in style.

Nayim levelled Mike Sheron's early goal, Steve Sedgley put us 2-1, Nayim then extended the lead before completing his hat-trick with minute left.

But the drama wasn't over. City fans invaded the pitch at this point and mounted Police had to clear the playing surface. Terry Phelan then scored one of the goals of the season to make it 4-2 and Sheringham still had time to miss a penalty before the final whistle.

Darren Anderton is now preparing for another FA Cup away tie against City having played in that game.

"It was an amazing game," he recalled. "It was the quarter-final of the FA Cup, a massive game and we'd played really well up until about the week before when we went to Sheffield United and lost 6-0. That really destroyed us.

"City then scored after about three minutes and the character we showed that day was unbelievable really. We ended up comfortable winners. It was a great day.

"So much seemed to happen in that game. I remember when Steve Sedgley scored his goal all sorts coming down onto the pitch and it was a little frightening at the time.

"Nayim went on to score the hat-trick and it was a great feeling to be in a semi-final. It was a tough draw and always going to be difficult so to come back from being 1-0 down was special. I'll always remember it, that's for sure."

We fought out a backs-to-the-wall goalless draw at the City if Manchester Stadium in the Premiership in September and Darren realises that it's exactly this type of game you have to come through to go all the way in the competition.

He added: "We were struggling at the start of the season when we went there and we had to battle to not concede a goal.

"We stayed solid and got a good point in the end. That was a tough game and it will be the same on Sunday but these are the games you have to come through. We could have had a better draw that's for sure but we know we're well capable of winning."
