Magnificent Malta!

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Our Official Maltese Supporters Club has celebrated its 20-year anniversary - and it's a fan club with a huge fan in John Gorman.

Our assistant manager travelled to Valetta to be part of the celebrations for a club that has boasted over 800 registered members in those 20 years.

And we repaid the compliment to welcome members of the club into our training HQ at Spurs Lodge last week.

A previous visitor to Malta, John was full of praise for support we receive out there. "They are big fans with a big fan club and a great base," he said.

"It's a lovely club and I'm sure if there are any fans going over to Malta the gentlemen will make them very welcome. It's a wonderful club. I was in it recently when we didn't have a game and it is just Tottenham Hotspur wall to wall, past and present.

"I was there for the big celebration. I had a wonderful reception, great hospitality and we tried to repay them with hospitality in the same way.

"A number of the members came over earlier last week, representatives of the club and over 70 of them were here to watch the game against Arsenal.

"They came in for training but were late, so they were all fined!

"They got to meet all the players and management, got their autographs, photos and were all really happy. They are really big fans and it's great the club has fans like this all over the world."

Young midfielder Ciaran Toner was another player to experience the club's hospitality first hand.

He was recently in Malta with Northern Ireland and members travelled to his training base to meet him and present him with a momento of the club.

"It was a lovely touch," said Ciaran. "I would have love to have gone and seen the club first hand but I couldn't really leave our training base. They came to me and it was nice to see them."
