Mabbsy so positive
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Gary Mabbutt is in no doubts as to the quality of management team the club has put together.
Sporting Director Frank Arnesen, Head Coach Jacques Santini and first assistant Martin Jol have all arrived this summer.
Frank arrives at the Lane after 10 years in the same role at PSV where he discovered the likes of Ronaldo, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Eidur Gudjohnsen.
Jacques is the current national team manager of France and led them into Euro 2004 with a record of just one defeat in 25 matches, that figure is now one in 27.
Martin joins from Dutch outfit RKC Waalwijk after six years as Head Coach at the Dutch outfit.
Lane legend Gary, 16 years at the club, said: "I think the management team the club has put together in Frank Arnesen, Jacques Santini and now Martin Jol is one of the strongest you could find in Europe.
"The experience they have of European and international football not just at the higher end of the scale but also with their knowledge of younger players in certain countries will help us immensely.
"We're not in a position where we can go out and buy £50m players, so we have to find the talent before it hits the mainstream and develop it.
"I think the coaching team in place now has been put there for purely business-type reasons. There hasn't been any sentiment involved and the club had gone for the best available management team to try and rebuild.
"We have to rebuild. There is no overnight fix in all this, it will take time and hopefully things have been put in place.
"I seem to recall that Martin Jol was one of the names Alex Ferguson was looking at to replace Carlos Quieroz when he went to Real, so for United to be looking at him certainly shows his credentials.
"I just think it's a good move, the team is in place and they now have to bring on the talent we have, hopefully Daniel Levy can give them a decent treasure trove to go out and get the players they want and also start thinking about the Academy players all around Europe. It's a big task ahead but one I think they can pull off."
