Mabbsy backs Shirt Amnesty

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Lane legend Gary Mabbutt is backing BBC Radio Five Live's Shirt Amnesty - a push to collect thousands of old football shirts and send them to fans in South Africa, where replica kits are difficult and expensive to come by.

Former Spurs skipper Gary is heavily involved in the campaign and will be taking the first batch of shirts out to South Africa at the beginning of May.

The second batch will travel with the England team on May 20 when they make their journey to South Africa to play a friendly against the national team.

Five Live are asking you to donate your old shirts, or a full kit if you fancy and in return you'll be entered into a draw to win a trip to Africa to hand over your offering in person. All you have to do is send your name, address, telephone number AND your shirt (washed of course!) to this address:

Shirt Amnesty
Locker Freight
Haleview Rd

As a club, we are happy to get involved and will be donating not only some of our old shirts but also a shirt signed by the players, which will be auctioned to raise money for good causes in South Africa.

In addition, our Football in the Community Scheme will be inviting school children to add some of their old shirts to our donation.
