Luke still fighting for fitness

Luke Young admits he’s still not 100 per cent fit after his injury problems this season.
The versatile defender was pushed to the limit by the testing wing-back role in our last game against Southampton.
The 21-year-old came out of that encounter with a great deal of credit — not least after a superb diving block on the line to deny a certain goal.
Young said: “To be honest I’m not there yet. The extra yard of sharpness is not there and I’m just doing well to get through the 90 minutes.
“Hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll be back and feeling 100 per cent.
“I wouldn’t mind playing the wing-back role if I was 100 per cent but at the moment I’m not fully fit and it’s a difficult position.
“You have to get up and down and towards the end I was struggling and felt my hamstring going a bit but I battled through to the end.”
Young was naturally disappointed with the goalless draw but like his team-mates and manager, tried to look at the positives.
He added: “We had players out there who weren’t 100 per cent fit and you have to take that into account.
“Other than that we fancied ourselves before the game and we were disappointed with the performance.
“But at least we haven’t lost at home again. We’ve kept a clean sheet again which is important and the gaffer drills it into us that firstly he wants a clean sheet and anything after that he’s happy with.”
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
