Luka getting back to his best

Luka Modric feels he's starting to rediscover his best form.

Luka Modric feels he's starting to rediscover his best form.

The midfielder described his performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Everton as his best of an injury-interrupted season so far.

Captain on the day, Luka was involved in everything from central midfield, forced the first save of the match from Tim Howard and fired another effort just wide.

Luka admitted after the win against Villa on October 2 that he was struggling for rhythm after a couple of niggling injuries and that he would get better as he got fitter.

Since then, he's had two full shifts for Croatia and two for us at Fulham and now a typically hard-fought encounter against the Toffees.

"It's always tough against Everton and this was exactly the same," said Luka.

"I think this was my best game of the season so far. I feel better and better every game and I will start to play much better."

Both goals arrived in a four-minute spell in the first half as Leighton Baines curled home a free-kick for the visitors, quickly cancelled out by Rafa van der Vaart's tap in from Peter Crouch's knockdown.

We were the team pushing to win but couldn't find a way through in the second half.

"I thought we deserved to win," added Luka. "We were unlucky with some chances and it was a good point after a tough game in Milan on Wednesday."
