Local teenagers to be given glimpse of the future at UTC Open Day

• Will your design make it into the national health system or the world of sport?

Tottenham Hotspur is holding an Open Day for teenagers interested in becoming the first to study at the brand new University Technical College opening in Tottenham in September.

The Club is working alongside Middlesex University as a joint sponsor of the new UTC, which will specialise in the Technology of Science illustrated through Sport and Health and sit alongside the Club’s new stadium development scheme.

We are currently recruiting Year 10 and 12 students for the next academic year, and inviting teenagers to visit White Hart Lane between 1.30pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday 25th February to see some of the activities that the curriculum will offer.

Those attending will be able to get to grips with some of the latest technology developed at Middlesex University – where students have recently had the chance to work with Mortiz Waldemayer, designer of innovative costumes for the likes of Will.I.Am, Rihanna and Ellie Goulding.

Our technical partner, Under Armour, will also be demonstrating how it is constantly pushing the boundaries of modern-day sportswear apparel.

Debbie Ramm-Harpley has been recruited as Head Teacher from Capital City Academy in Brent, and will be present at the Open Day alongside legendary former captain and Ambassador for the Club’s regeneration plans, Ledley King.

Tottenham UTC will give students skills that lead to employment in the competitive future economy, with each being assigned a business mentor to support them towards achieving their goals and chosen careers.

“The project-based learning at Tottenham UTC will give students the opportunity to become part of a new generation of forward thinkers.

“Those who join us next September will leave ‘normal’ behind and could end up creating something that could be used at the next Olympic Games or in the national health system – the opportunities are endless.”
