Loan watch - point for Milos on first start

Milos Veljkovic helped keep a clean sheet on his first start for Championship side Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon.

Having made two substitute appearances for Boro in recent weeks, our on-loan defensive midfielder was drafted into the starting XI for the first time as his side travelled to Blackburn Rovers.

In the end, neither team was able to break the deadlock at Ewood Park, with Milos being substituted a minute into stoppage time at the end of the game.

Alex Pritchard was also in action in the Championship, his Brentford side going down 2-1 at Wolves. Alex went close to netting an equaliser with the hosts leading 1-0, but his header went wide. He was withdrawn eight minutes from time.

In League Two, an injury to Southend United’s David Worrall five minutes before half-time paved the way for Shaq Coulthirst to see some game time in his side’s home clash with Dagenham & Redbridge – our on-loan forward helping the Shrimpers secure a point by battling out a goalless draw, despite playing the final 20 minutes with 10 men.

In Italy, Tomislav Gomelt was an unused substitute for Bari as they lost 3-0 at home to Spezia in Serie B.

Meanwhile, midfielder Tom Carroll will be hoping to see some game time this evening (Monday) when his Swansea City side travel to Liverpool in the Premier League.
