Loan watch - mixed fortunes for lads

Thu 13 February 2014, 06:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Lewis Holtby was in action for Fulham on Wednesday night, capping off a midweek of mixed fortunes for our loanees.

The German international was his usual committed self, but he was unable to prevent his side from slipping to a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Jake Livermore, meanwhile, played 90 minutes for Hull City on Tuesday – but he was also on the losing end of the scoreline as Steve Bruce’s men suffered a 1-0 reverse.

It was a happier week for our lads on loan in the Championship with Jon Obika a late substitute for Brighton & Hove Albion in their 1-0 win against Leeds United on Tuesday night, while Ryan Fredericks played the full game as Millwall recovered from going a goal behind to draw 1-1 at Yeovil.

Monday saw Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Tom Carroll take to the field for Queens Park Rangers – Benoit playing the full game with Tom substituted after 79 minutes – but their side lost 1-0 at Derby County.
