Loan watch - Jake and Simon on target

23 December 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Jake Livermore and Simon Dawkins were both on target for their loan clubs at the weekend.

Jake latched onto Danny Graham’s pass and raced forward before pulling the trigger to put Hull City into a 28th minute lead at West Bromwich Albion.

Steve Bruce’s men were, however, denied all three points after the Baggies levelled four minutes from time.

In the Championship, Simon was among Derby County’s goalscorers as the Rams won 3-1 at home to Doncaster Rovers.

Simon collected the ball in midfield five minutes into the second half and, after running at a Doncaster defence that included on-loan Spurs colleague Bongani Khumalo, let fly to put Derby 2-0 up.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Tom Carroll and Benoit Assou-Ekotto started for Queens Park Rangers in their 1-0 defeat at home to Leicester City. Tom was withdrawn after 69 minutes, while Benoit played the full game.

Grant Hall, Alex Pritchard and Ryan Mason all started for Swindon Town, as they triumphed 2-1 at home to Coventry City in League One. Grant and Alex played the full 90 minutes, while Ryan was substituted at half-time.

In the Skrill Conference Premier, goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux once again made some fine saves for Hyde FC as they played host to Barnet, but he was unable to prevent his side from slipping to a narrow 1-0 defeat.

In Spain, Yago Falque maintained a watching brief from the bench as Rayo Vallecano lost 2-1 at Athletic Club on Sunday. He got in a period of rest after playing the first hour of Vallecano’s 3-1 victory over Real Valladolid in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

And in Portugal, Cristian Ceballos was an unused substitute for FC Arouca in their 3-0 win at Gil Vicente on Sunday.
