Loan watch - Grant helps Fire to draws

Mon 07 July 2014, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Grant Ward started both games as Chicago Fire picked up draws in their last two matches in the MLS - including one against Jermain Defoe's Toronto FC.

Our Tour opponents met last week at Fire's Toyota Park and our Development Squad midfielder - on loan at Chicago until December - fired in a couple of shots on target in the 1-1 draw.

Toronto played for over an hour with 10 men after Luke Moore's red card on 29 minutes but took the lead when Jermain crossed for Jackson to head home. Chicago levelled through Harrison Shipp on 56 minutes.

Grant was back in the Fire line-up on Sunday for another 1-1 draw, this time at Sporting Kansas City.

He played 80 minutes on this occasion as SKC opened the scoring through Dom Dwyer on 33 minutes before Mike Magee equalised for Chicago five minutes before the break.

Chicago are currently ninth of 10 in the MLS Eastern Conference.
