Mon 11 August 2014, 09:44|Tottenham Hotspur

The opening weekend of the Football League season proved a busy one for our loanees, with players in action across all three divisions.

Alex Pritchard was in the thick of the action for Brentford, as they battled to a 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic in the Championship.

The midfielder went close with a long-range shot in the early stages and put on an energetic display before being substituted with 11 minutes remaining.

Defender Grant Hall was also in action in the same division, playing 90 minutes for Birmingham City in their 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.

In League One, Kenny McEvoy went on as a 65th minute substitute for Peterborough United in their 1-0 win at Rochdale while Shaq Coulthirst started for Southend United in their 1-0 League Two triumph at Accrington Stanley. Shaq won the first of two second half penalties for the Shrimpers, the second of which was converted to seal the points, and was withdrawn on 65 minutes.

Jordan Archer, meanwhile, was on the bench for Northampton Town in their 1-0 home win against Mansfield Town, also in League Two.

In America, Grant Ward went on as a late substitute for Chicago Fire in their 1-0 MLS victory over New York Red Bulls at Toyota Park on Sunday night.
