Loan watch - debut win for Ryan
22 September 2014|Tottenham Hotspur
It was a debut to remember for Ryan Fredericks at Middlesbrough in the Championship at the weekend – although it came at the expense of one of his on-loan Spurs colleagues.
The full-back started for Boro for the first time, and played the full game as his side secured a 4-0 home win over Brentford – for whom Alex Pritchard played 66 minutes.
In League One, Kenny McEvoy was back in Peterborough United’s starting line-up for their trip to Yeovil. He was replaced after 71 minutes, with a late Yeovil goal condemning the Posh to a 1-0 defeat.
Two of our loanees saw game time in League Two, Jordan Archer keeping goal for Northampton Town as they lost out to Accrington Stanley in a nine-goal thriller – the match ending 5-4 to the visitors – while Shaq Coulthirst played 65 minutes for Southend United as they won 3-2 at York City.
Midfielder Tom Carroll was an unused substitute for Swansea City in their 1-0 Premier League defeat at home to Southampton, as was Tomislav Gomelt for Bari as they triumphed 2-0 at home to Livorno in Italy’s Serie B.
In Germany, Lewis Holtby played the full game for Hamburg as they held Bayern Munich to a goalless Bundesliga draw while, in America, Grant Ward’s Chicago Fire also shared the spoils as they drew 3-3 at home to DC United – the midfielder starting the MLS contest before being replaced on 63 minutes.
