Loan watch - Alex on target

Tue 22 April 2014, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Alex Pritchard was on target for Swindon Town on a long weekend that saw some of our loanees playing twice.

Alex played 90 minutes for the Robins as they toppled Bradford City 1-0 at home in League One on Monday afternoon, but it was during Friday’s 2-1 win at Coventry City that the 20-year-old found the net.

He fired home unmarked from 12 yards to put his side into an eighth minute lead, playing the full game as the visitors secured victory.

The action for our on-loan players began in Portugal on Thursday, Cristian Ceballos going on as a 57th minute substitute for FC Arouca in their 3-2 win at Vitoria Guimaraes.

Jon Obika was in action for Charlton Athletic in the Championship on Friday, stepping off the bench in the second half as the Addicks drew 0-0 at home to Bolton Wanderers before coming on again – this time in stoppage time – as his side won at Sheffield Wednesday by the odd goal in five on Monday afternoon.

There were mixed fortunes for our two loanees at Queens Park Rangers. Benoit Assou-Ekotto was sent off for a second bookable offence in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Leicester City, while Tom Carroll played the full game as the R’s won 2-1 at home to Watford on Monday.

Also in the Championship, Ryan Fredericks was an unused substitute for Millwall in Monday’s goalless home draw against Doncaster Rovers.

Shaq Coulthirst had two outings in League Two, playing the full game for Torquay United on Friday as the Gulls lost 1-0 at home to Dagenham & Redbridge before playing 89 minutes as his side triumphed 2-1 at Exeter City.

Lewis Holtby was ineligible to play for Fulham in our 3-1 victory at White Hart Lane on Saturday under loan rules, but Jake Livermore played 90 minutes for Hull City in their 3-0 Premier League reverse at home to Arsenal on Sunday.

In Spain, Yago Falque played 90 minutes for Rayo Vallecano on Sunday as they sealed a 3-1 home La Liga win against Real Betis.
