Loan watch

31 October 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Benoit Assou-Ekotto played his part as Queens Park Rangers played out a goalless draw with Wigan Athletic in the Championship on Wednesday evening.

Our on-loan left-back played 90 minutes as the R’s kept a clean sheet on the road, but the Loftus Road side’s failure to find their target themselves meant they missed out on the chance to go second in the table.

The defender was a key figure in the game as Rangers rallied in the first half, notably beating Jordi Gomez and finding Gary O’Neil in a good position, who miscued his effort wide.

Midfielder Tom Carroll remains sidelined through injury.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Yago Falque started for Rayo Vallecano as they travelled to Osasuna in La Liga.

It was a tough night for the visitors, though, as they lost 3-1, with Yago being substituted in the 64th minute – his team’s second change of the night.

Meanwhile Jake Livermore, on loan at Hull City, was again ineligible to play as we beat the Tigers in a thrilling penalty shootout in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
