Dominic Ball, meanwhile, was on the bench for Rangers as they secured a 1-0 home win over St Mirren in the Scottish Championship.
On the continent, defender Federico Fazio was in action for Sevilla on Thursday night as they lost 1-0 away to Norwegian side Molde in the second leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie. However, the Spanish outfit still went through thanks to a 3-1 aggregate victory.
