Loanees Alex Pritchard and Grant Hall faced each other at the weekend as Alex’s Brentford drew 1-1 with Grant’s Birmingham City in the Championship.

Both played 90 minutes for their respective sides at Griffin Park, although it was the hosts who had to work harder after being reduced to 10 men in the first half.

In League Two, Shaq Coulthirst played 64 minutes for Southend United in their 1-1 draw at Carlisle United while it was the same scoreline between Northampton Town and Shrewsbury with goalkeeper Jordan Archer on the bench for the hosts.

Across the Atlantic, Grant Ward got the assist for Chicago Fire’s first goal as they twice pegged back hosts Toronto FC on the way to a 2-2 draw.

Grant, who went on as a substitute on 58 minutes with his side trailing 1-0, sent in a cross for debutant Rob Earnshaw to head home against his former club in the 70th minute.

Toronto regained the lead 10 minutes later, but Fire snatched a point in the closing moments.
