Shaq Coulthirst made his debut for Leyton Orient on Saturday – 24 hours after linking up with the O’s on loan.

Our young forward was named on the bench by Orient chief Russell Slade in their 4-0 defeat at Yeovil in the FA Cup third round, being introduced in the 61st minute – by which time the visitors were already three goals behind.

Elsewhere in the FA Cup, Benoit Assou-Ekotto played 90 minutes for Queens Park Rangers as they lost at Everton by the same scoreline, while Bongani Khumalo was an unused substitute for Doncaster Rovers in their 3-2 defeat at home to Stevenage.

In the Skrill Conference Premier, Lawrence Vigouroux’s Hyde FC slumped to a 4-0 defeat at Gateshead.

It was also a miserable weekend for Cristian Ceballos, who was sent off 15 minutes after coming on as a substitute for FC Arouca in their 2-0 Portuguese Cup reverse at Sporting Braga.

Yago Falque’s Rayo Vallecano return to La Liga action in Spain this evening when they host Villarreal.
