Loan watch

Thu 02 January 2014, 09:56|Tottenham Hotspur

A handful of our on-loan players were in action on New Year’s Day – with mixed fortunes for the lads.

Jake Livermore played 90 minutes for Hull City against Liverpool in the Premier League, but Steve Bruce’s men were unable to claim any points as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat.

In the Championship, Benoit Assou-Ekotto was on the winning side as Queens Park Rangers overturned a 1-0 half-time deficit to beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1.

Rangers’ winner arrived in stoppage time at the end of the game. Tom Carroll was an unused substitute for the R’s.

In the same division, Simon Dawkins was a second half substitute for Derby County in their 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic.

Simon, who was introduced in the 64th minute, saw a shot deflected wide towards the end of the game as the Rams sought an ultimately elusive leveller.

Elsewhere, Lawrence Vigouroux’s luck was out again in the Skrill Conference Premier, his Hyde FC side crashing to a 3-0 defeat to Macclesfield Town.
