Andros Townsend made a match-winning impact off the bench for Leyton Orient against Millwall.

Andros Townsend made a match-winning impact off the bench for Leyton Orient against Millwall.

On just before the hour mark, the flying winger scored the only goal of the League One derby just a minute after entering the action at Brisbane Road.

It was a worthy winner as well as Andros (pictured right) beat his man on the left of the penalty area before firing a shot into the opposite corner.

He was close to doubling his tally soon after when a 30-yard thunderbolt flew inches over.

Staying in League One, Oscar Jansson had a mixed day as Exeter lost 2-1 at high-fying Charlton.

The young keeper made an excellent early save to deny Deon Burton but later spilled a cross that Izale McLeod drilled home to make it 2-0. Exeter scored a late consolation but went down 2-1. Troy Archibald-Henville also played 90 minutes for Exeter.

Ryan Mason and Steven Caulker both played 90 minutes and were celebrating after Yeovil won their first game since the first day of the season, 2-0 at home to Brentford.

In the Premier League, Jamie O'Hara had rave reviews for his performance for Portsmouth but the midfielder could do nothing to prevent Pompey slipping to seven defeats in seven matches, 1-0 at home to Everton.

Kyle Walker played 90 minutes as Sheffield United suffered a 2-1 defeat at Swansea in the Championship. Adel Taarabt was substituted after 69 minutes with QPR 4-2 up in a 5-2 win against Barnsley while Jake Livermore played 78 minutes as Derby beat Bristol City 1-0 at Pride Park.

Dean Parrett put in a Man of the Match performance and set-up the first goal in Aldershot's 4-1 win against Cheltenham. The midfielder's Academy team-mate Sam Cox was an unused substitute for Cheltenham.

Finally, Lee Butcher was back in goal for Grays as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Forest Green in the Blue Square Premier.

Jonathan Obika - currently on loan at Yeovil - was a 72nd-minute substitute as England Under-20s suffered a late defeat against Uruguay in the U20s World Cup in Egypt.

Uruguay struck with just six minutes remaining of the group opener at the Ismailia Stadium.

The Three Lions face Ghana in their second group match tomorrow (Tuesday, September 29).
