Ryan Fredericks marked his return from injury for Middlesbrough in their Championship clash with Fulham on Saturday, although his afternoon was soured by the Cottagers running out 4-3 winners.

Our on-loan right-back went straight back into the starting line-up and played just over an hour for the hosts before being substituted.

Midfielder Alex Pritchard was also in action in the Championship at the weekend, playing 84 minutes for Brentford as they won 2-0 at Reading. Goalkeeper Jordan Archer, meanwhile, was an unused substitute for Millwall in their 3-3 draw at home to Derby County.

In the Premier League, winger Aaron Lennon played the full game for Everton as they beat Manchester United 3-0 at Goodison Park while, in League One, there were mixed fortunes for the midfield duo of Dele Alli and Grant Ward.

Both played 90 minutes for their respective clubs – Dele claimed the assist for MK Dons’ third goal as they won 3-2 at Rochdale but there was no such joy for Grant as his Coventry City side lost 3-1 at home to Crewe Alexandra.

In the same division, defender Bongani Khumalo remained ever-present for Colchester United in their 3-2 win at Fleetwood Town.

League Two action saw Shaq Coulthirst complete 90 minutes for York City as they lost 2-0 at home to Newport County while defender Dominic Ball played the first half for Cambridge United as they were defeated by the same scoreline at Oxford United.

Attacker Emmanuel Sonupe, meanwhile, was on the bench for St Mirren in their 4-1 home victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
