Loan watch

Harry Kane grabbed the headlines on Saturday as our youngsters continue to impress at Leyton Orient.

Harry Kane grabbed the headlines on Saturday as our youngsters continue to impress at Leyton Orient.

The 17-year-old is on loan with Spurs team-mates Paul Jose Mpoku and Tom Carroll at Brisbane Road.

And Harry, a Second Year Trainee, made a stunning impact off the bench with two goals to help steer the Os to a 4-1 win against Bristol Rovers.

Orient looked in charge of the League One encounter as goals from Jimmy Smith and Andrew Whing put them 2-0 up in the first half.

But an own goal from Ben Chorley brought Rovers back into it in the 52nd minute.

A comeback looked on but it took Harry just seven minutes after entering the action to put the Os back on track, drilling home from 12 yards to make it 3-1 in the 77th minute.

He then put the issue beyond doubt with a tap-in for 4-1 five minutes later and he was soon joined on the pitch by both Paul Jose and Tom as late substitutes.

Elsewhere in League One, Adam Smith played 90 minutes as Bournemouth won 1-0 at Walsall to move three points clear of Huddersfield in the automatic promotion places. Gus Poyet's Brighton top the table.

Jon Obika made his first start for Swindon and played 88 minutes as his side lost 2-1 at Colchester.

David Button made his 21st appearance of the season in goal for Plymouth as the Pilgrims suffered a 3-1 home loss against Tranmere.

In the Championship, Kyle Naughton played 90 minutes and was involved in the opening goal as Leicester beat Derby 2-0 at Pride Park.

Steven Caulker tried to get Bristol City back into the game against Leeds but first saw Casper Schmeichel save a close-range effort and then headed against the woodwork from a corner. The damage was already done though with Leeds 2-0 up and that's how it stayed at Ashton Gate.

Ryan Mason and Andros Townsend made substitute appearances for Doncaster and Watford respectively. Ryan came on in the 58th minute as Rovers lost 2-0 at home to Portsmouth, Andros came on after 72 minutes as the Hornets lost 3-1 at home to Burnley.

In the Premier League, David Bentley was involved in the build-up to Birmingham's late, late winner against Stoke.

Kyle Walker also played 90 minutes as Villa drew 1-1 at Blackpool while Jamie O'Hara featured for 63 minutes as Wolves suffered a 2-0 loss at Arsenal.

Finally in La Liga in Spain, Giovani was involved in a thriller for Racing Santander on Sunday.

Gio came off the bench in the 70th minute with the game poised at 2-2 after Sevilla hauled themselves back from an early 2-0 deficit. However, Gio and Racing had the last word with a 90th-minute winner from Manuel Arana.
