Simon Dawkins continues to impress in his loan spell at San Jose Earthquakes.
The versatile midfielder/forward scored his second goal of the MLS campaign when the Earthquakes suffered only their third loss, a 2-1 defeat at Kansas City.
Earthquakes trailed 2-0 when Simon chipped home in the 71st minute but they couldn't find an equaliser.
Since then, our club partners have been in US Open Cup action.
Simon started on the bench for the third and fourth round ties against Ford Lauderdale Strikers and Minnesota Stars.
He made an immediate impact in the third round when he entered the action at 1-0 down and within seven minutes, set-up Adam Garza to equalise. Garza then hit the winner in the 70th minute.
Against the Stars, Simon came on in the 65th minute and, according to coach Frank Yallop, 'added energy' to the team as Steven Lenhart scored the winner five minutes from time.
Earthquakes are back in MLS action against Colorado Rapids on June 20.
