Liverpool vs Spurs - betting preview with Betfred

Fri 28 March 2014, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs still have hopes of the top four but they can’t afford to lose many points between now and the end of the season. A trip to Anfield, however, is about as tough as it gets right now.

Liverpool have won 14 of their last 16 home matches and, incredibly, lead at half-time in all of those wins.

They beat Arsenal and Everton here this year but their two most recent home wins, against Swansea and Sunderland, were much closer affairs as they won by just one goal. Spurs have a decent record against Liverpool in recent years and have lost just one of their last three trips to Anfield.

They’ve struggled at times against the top three this season but there were signs of improvement against Arsenal recently and after a superb fight-back against Southampton they will be hopeful of getting something from this game.

The Reds have not had a goalless opening half in 26 games and nine of their last 12 home matches have had at least two goals in the first half. Spurs, too, have a record of high-scoring games when travelling to top-six teams as eight of their last nine such matches have had at least three goals and six of the games have had four or more. Both teams to score should be fairly safe at 8/13 while Over 3.5 Goals looks worth backing at 11/10.
