Liverpool v Spurs - team news

Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful that Kieran Trippier will be available for Saturday's Premier League clash at Liverpool.

The full-back suffered a painful knock to the hip in the FA Cup win against Wycombe on January 28.

That has kept him out of our last two matches against Sunderland and Middlesbrough but he is back in training and aiming for Anfield.

Kieran has trained well since the beginning of the week and we hope he’ll be available to be in the squad," reported Mauricio ahead of training on Thursday.

As reported here, the news is positive on Danny Rose's knee injury but he won't be ready to face Liverpool.

There was also good news on Jan Vertonghen's recovery from an ankle injury sustained against West Brom on January 14. "Jan's doing well and maybe next week he can start working with the group," added Mauricio. "Erik Lamela (hip) is step-by-step.

"The good thing is the injured players are very positive, that’s important."
