Limited places left on Foundation Degree programme
13 August 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
From today, students who have received their A-level results can apply for a place to study on Tottenham Hotspur’s Foundation Degree programme through the UCAS clearing system.
Tottenham Hotspur was the first Premier League Club to offer a Foundation Degree programme to students through Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. Since they launched in 2010, the courses have been steadily growing in popularity. Recently commended for six areas of good practice including student support and high quality work placements, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation prides itself on its unique and personal approach to Higher Education.
Students are based at White Hart Lane stadium and have the opportunity to study one of the following courses:
• FdA Applied Sport and Community Development
• FdSc Applied Football Coaching and Performance
About the Foundation Degrees
Each year, 30 places are made available to students across Europe for each course which are both quality assured by the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education).
One defining factor of Foundation Degree programmes is the work-based learning element on offer. Each course is designed with input from employers, helping to ensure students gain the skills, knowledge and experience required to go straight into employment after graduation.
On completion of the Foundation Degrees on offer at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, many students go on to continue their studies to complete a BA or BSc degree, while others go straight into employment.
Adam Stapleton is a graduate from the Foundation Degree and talks about his experience studying at White Hart Lane: “I’d always been interested in sport and had been volunteering at the Foundation’s Skills project in Wood Green when I heard about the Foundation Degree. I knew that securing a place on the course would give me a great opportunity to learn from professionals within the industry and not only gain a Foundation Degree but solid work experience too. And I did gain great work experience – from working with young children to older people in the local community. It’s opened many doors for me and I’m now working full-time at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.”
The deadline for applications through UCAS clearing is September 21, 2015. UCAS clearing closes for 2015 entry on September 30.
