Light at the end of the Toon-el
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle can see some light in the frustration of Saturday's postponed FA Cup tie against Bolton.
Our scheduled fourth round encounter was called off just an hour before kick-off by referee Steve Dunn after persistant rain had left the playing surface waterlogged.
"The most frustrating thing for us was that it was so late in the day," said Glenn at Spurs Lodge on Monday. "But that was no-one's fault really.
"I can assure you that at half past one the game was playable but at two o'clock, it wasn't. At one end you couldn't get the ball through the pitch.
"We wanted the game on but we had to abide by the referee's decision.
"He felt it might be abandoned if we started and that was the last thing he wanted to do. That's life and we'll get on with it."
Having confessed that frustrating, not least with the club on a tidal wave of confidence after demolishing Chelsea and reaching the Worthington Cup Final three days previously but, having played so many games of late, the boss conceded that the rest was good for the players.
He added: "Everyone was on a high, we're on a bit of a roll but in saying that we've had a lot of football and before the game against Newcastle, it was probably the best thing for us.
"There is always good to come out of something not so good."
