Leyton Orient 0-0 Spurs X1
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Colin Calderwood's Spurs X1 side were held to a goalless draw by Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road on Tuesday evening.
In a game of few chances, Colin's young charges - plus Chris Perry and Gary Doherty - had the clearest opportunities to emerge victorious, the most gilt-edged falling to half-time substitute Marcel McKie in the final seconds.
Danny Foster swung in an inviting low cross from the right that evaded the Orient rearguard, but the young wing-back struck his shot inches wide from close range.
There was little in the way of goalmouth action in the first period, Doherty coming closest to breaking the deadlock for Spurs on 28 minutes, while a Perry back pass let in Gary Fletcher who hit the outside of the post for the home side.
Early in the second half Lee Barnard was just squeezed out of a scoring chance after being played in by Mark Yeates - before the former repaid the compliment to Yeates, who pulled his effort wide.
On 65 minutes Jamie Slabber shot across the face of the goal after carving out an opportunity for himself with strong play in the Orient area, while ten minutes later Nicky Eyre was forced into action when Fletcher found himself in the clear - the goalkeeper winning out, and holding on, in a one on one.
