Lewis 'buzzing' ahead of first derby days
Lewis Holtby can’t wait for his first taste of a London derby at West Ham on Monday night.
We travel to Upton Park on the back of Thursday night’s thrilling draw at Lyon to progress to the last 16 of the Europa League and with a record of one defeat in our last 13 matches in the Premier League.
That run started with a 3-1 win against the Hammers at the Lane on November 25.
“It’s an important game for everyone, for the fans, for West Ham, for us, sitting in fourth spot and trying reach third, it’s a vital game,” said Lewis.
“I can’t wait and we’ve two massive games in a row now, West Ham and Arsenal. It doesn’t get better than that! I’m already buzzing for those games.”
Lewis was back on the bench after being substituted when Mousa Dembele struck in the final minute in Lyon to set-up a last 16 tie against Inter Milan.
“Everyone was so chuffed, delighted for all the hard work we put in and I think we deserved it over the 90 minutes,” he added.
“It was great to see the lads so happy and we now go with a good feeling to West Ham on Monday, another huge game.”
