Let's keep it going - Andre

Andre Villas-Boas proudly accepted another Barclays Manager of the Month Award and insisted: “We have to keep this consistency going.”

The team won three out of three matches in February – 1-0 at West Brom, 2-1 at home to Newcastle and then Monday’s thrilling 3-2 win at West Ham, to move up to third in the Premier League.

The victories stretched our unbeaten run to 11 in the Premier League and one defeat in 15 since November.

“It’s been another excellent month and this is a reward we share with everyone,” said Andre.

“It doesn’t mean it stops here. We have teams in behind us chasing the same objectives. We have to bridge the gap and that will put us in a more comfortable position.

“At the moment everything is going well, but we have to keep this consistency going until the end of the season.”

Andre with his award for February

Gareth Bale completed a double for the club after being named Barclays Player of the Month for February.

He scored five goals in the Premier League, including the winner at West Brom, both goals against Newcastle and another two at West Ham, including a screamer to win it in the last minute.

“Gareth has been impressive,” added Andre. “When you enjoy your football you can produce some moments of outstanding quality and that is exactly what is happening with Gareth at the moment. We all congratulate him for that.”
