Les going with the flow
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Les Ferdinand is confident the goals will continue to flow this season - as long as he stays fit.
'Sir Les' has been delighted with both the consistency of his personal contribution and the performances of the team.
The 34-year-old was dogged by injury in his first three seasons at Spurs but he played 35 games last season (scoring 10 goals in 28 league games) and has now forged a successful partnership with Teddy Sheringham that has flourished in the last nine games.
And his insists the way the team is playing, with chances galore being created, he will continue to add to the tally that stands as four goals so far this term.
Les, who has netted three of those goals in his last five games, explained: "I've been consistent this season in my performances. I'm staying fit, the team is playing well and we're creating chances.
"As long as I can stay fit and we can continue to play the way we're playing then I'm sure I'll score more goals."
The latest came against Middlesbrough as we came from behind to win 2-1 in the Premiership in Saturday.
Les insisted: "It's always pleasing to score and it doesn't matter what team it is against or when it is, you just want to score.
"We saw that win as important as any other this season.
"We felt before the game that they would come and sit behind the ball and try to frustrate us and make it dificult.
"That's what they did and the fact they got the first goal made it all the more difficult for us. But we persevered, stepped it up in the second half and deserved the points."
Les and Teddy scored a goal each against Boro to make it nine goals between them in their last nine starts as a partnership - not bad for a combined age of 69, soon to be 70!
Les joked: "Everyone keeps saying we must be the oldest strikeforce in the country but we're pleased with that and we'll keep proving the doubters wrong."
