Les gets that tingly feeling
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
It says much about what Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final means to Les Ferdinand when he admits: "I'm getting that tingly feeling in my stomach."
Les, now 34, is desperate to end his career with an FA Cup winner's medal.
This is a man who has played for England, been a member of European Championship and World Cup squads, chased Manchester United for the title twice at Newcastle, won the Worthington Cup Final at Wembley and been named PFA Player of the Year.
But the FA Cup means so much to Les. He admitted: "I'm getting that tingly feeling in the stomach, which is always a good sign. We're all looking forward to it. I've said for a long time that this is one competition that I would love to get to the final of.
"This is a boyhood dream for me, to get to the FA Cup Final and to do it with the team that you supported as a boy would be the ultimate in my career."
Les narrowly missed out with us back in 1999 when, to add salt into his wounds, his former club Newcastle and his great mate Alan Shearer beat us in extra time at Old Trafford.
Now a West Ham side whose fans, after wins at Manchester United and Sunderland, believe their name is on the cup as much as our fans who know there is a one in the year.
Les added: "I'm expecting a tough game. West Ham have some talented individuals who we've all seen turn it on.We're both going into this game with form that's not been as great but it's the cup, it's a London derby and all the things you'd want for a quarter-final.
"We're all excited, everyone. We keep hearing about the one in the year and it's our name on the cup again so let's hope that's true!"
Les is 13/2 to net the opener, 8/1 to score a header and 66/1 to grab a hat-trick - click here for details.
