Leo's game plan
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Oyvind Leonhardsen has hinted that we might have to change our style to end our barren spell on the road in the Premiership.
The Norwegian midfielder sampled at first hand our problems away from the Lane after making his comeback from a two-month injury lay-off in Wednesday night’s defeat at Southampton.
It was a familiar story - plenty of possession, good football but a lack of cutting edge — as our record without an away win slipped into double-figures.
‘Leo’ will now take his place in a depleted team at Ipswich Town on Saturday knowing that we have to start picking up points on our travels to make an impact on the Premiership’s top six.
And he commented: “It’s difficult at the moment. We keep the ball well in away games but we don’t create many chances. That is a problem. Maybe we will have to play more direct.
“We have to believe we can still make the top six but we have to start winning away from home.
“Ipswich have done very well and it will be a very tough game for us. They have surprised a lot of teams and are playing good football. It will be hard.”
The 2-0 defeat at The Dell was a double-edged sword for Leo after he completed his first 90 minutes since damaging his hamstring back in October.
“I was very pleased because I didn’t feel anything from the injury and that was the main thing for me,” he added. “Of course, I was very disappointed with the defeat and we just have to work hard now and try to get some results away from home.”
