Mauricio Pochettino enjoys the festive football fixtures in the Premier League – describing the period as 'special'.
As a player, Mauricio spent time in Argentina, Spain and France where football stops at this time of year.
He experienced the Boxing Day and New Year matches for the first time during his time at Southampton last year and is now preparing to face the Foxes before a home double-header against United (December 28) and Chelsea (New Year’s Day).
“It’s different to Spain or Argentina but we enjoy it,” said Mauricio. “We’re happy to be here, looking forward to the Boxing Day game and then New Year back at our stadium in front of all the families.
“You realise that it’s a special moment and a special atmosphere that you can only feel in England. My family understand that this is a moment to enjoy, maybe in a different way to Spain or Argentina. It’s a nice moment to be together. Football is there to be enjoyed.
“We have a lot of games ahead starting with Leicester on Boxing Day and we’re in a good moment, everyone is happy after the three victories last week and it’s important we keep this feeling.
“You can always be better but we are in a good way.
“Leicester are a good team and we expect a tough game. They aren’t in a good place in the table at the moment but I think this is a team that has played well but perhaps hasn’t got the results. This is always a dangerous opponent."
