Leicester U18s v Spurs - Kieran's preview
04 March 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Kieran McKenna wants our Under-18s to show similar levels of resilience to those that they produced at Leicester City a few weeks ago when we return to the Foxes’ training ground once more on Saturday (March 5).
Our second game of the Barclays Under-18 Premier League’s merit group stage takes us back to Leicester and the site of our hard-fought 1-1 draw on January 30.
With another stern test expected this weekend, Under-18s Coach Kieran says the boys will need to stay strong and find a way to impose themselves on the game once again if we’re to come out with a positive result.
“Going over to Leicester is always a good challenge,” he said. “You know they’re going to be up and at you, be aggressive and look to push you back in your own half but we went there just over a month ago, were very strong and managed to resist that.
“We battled really well and managed to play in patches and in the end we probably should have won the game so this weekend we’re looking to do the same in terms of our commitment levels, being resilient and standing up to what Leicester are going to bring.
“Also, we’re looking to impose our football on the game – we’ve seen a lot of good attacking play over the last few weeks so we’re hoping to build on that.”
Kick-off at Leicester’s training ground is at 11.30am on Saturday.
