Mauricio Pochettino was happy to bag three points after a Boxing Day test at Leicester City.
Harry Kane rifled home his 15th goal of the season to hand us the lead inside a minute, Leonardo Ulloa levelled three minutes into the second half only for Christian Eriksen to curl home a trademark free-kick for the winner on 71 minutes.
Mauricio talked about the need for a second goal as we controlled procedings from the first whistle but instead, the Foxes fought back, levelled minutes into the second half and put us under all sorts of pressure before another moment of magic from Christian to secure the points and a third-successive win in the Premier League.
“I’m happy with the result, three points is so important for us,”said Mauricio as the snow came down at the King Power Stadium.
“It was a very tough game. We scored early and managed the first 30 minutes very well but you need to kill the game off. Leicester started to push, to play better and the second half was very difficult for us.
“You need to kill the game in this situation because the opponent starts to take a risk, has nothing to lose and that made it difficult.
“We’ve showed character in every game and it’s important to keep this feeling.
“At the end of the game it’s important to look at a positive result because we now have to prepare for another tough match in two days time against Manchester United.”
We take on United at the Lane on Sunday, kick-off at noon.
