Legends celebrate festive season with Disabled Supporters’ Association

15 December 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Ledley King and Ossie Ardiles joined members of our Disabled Supporters’ Association (DSA) for a special Christmas Party held at White Hart Lane today (Tuesday, December 15).

The legendary pair took part in a Q&A session for those in attendance before DSA members enjoyed a Christmas lunch put on by the Club.

It rounds off a month of activities as part of the Club’s support of Kick It Out and UK Disability History Month (November 22 – December 22), celebrating the lives and achievements of disabled people and promoting equality and inclusion for people with disabilities.

Prior to Sunday’s game against Newcastle, Laurence Cornwall, the Chairman of the DSA, was recognised as a ‘Hotspur Hero’ with a pitchside presentation given by one of his all-time heroes, Gary Mabbutt (pictured, below).

Born in Tottenham in September, 1961, Laurence has been a Spurs fan since a young age and is one of the founding members of the DSA that has been running for over four years.

The Club regularly liaises with the DSA to discuss any problems faced by disabled fans so that actions can be put in place to resolve any issues.

The DSA also has representation on the Access Forum for the Northumberland Development Project to ensure that disabled fans are engaged and involved at the planning stages as we seek to develop a world-class facility accessible to all.

If you have a disability or know someone with a disability and enjoy attending live sporting events, meeting new people and sharing a love of football, the DSA wants to hear from you.
