Legendary boss Keith visits new Training Centre

Legendary former manager Keith Burkinshaw paid a visit to our new Training Centre on Thursday.
And the man who brought Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa to Spurs and went on to win back-to-back FA Cups and the UEFA Cup was blown away by the world-class facilities at Hotspur Way.
Keith landed the FA Cup in 1981 with Ricky’s famous replay goal at Wembley, defended the trophy in 1982 and then lifted the UEFA Cup after a thrilling penalty shoot-out against Anderlecht in 1984.
“It’s a different world from what we were used to,” he said. “We thought we had a good base in Cheshunt but this is absolutely staggering. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it!
“I don’t think I’d want to leave - I’d want to sleep here as well! It’s terrific.”
The quality of the training pitches immediately caught Keith’s eye. “They are fantastic and then you’ve everything else to back that up,” he added. “The medical side of things and the facilties to help the players to get fit again.
“The recovery side of the game is so important now.”
All our Academy squads train at the centre as well and for Keith, whose great teams included many home-grown players, that was another key element.
“This is for all the kids in the Academy and they have everything here so they can try to push to be great players for Tottenham Hotspur.”
