Ledley King feels the team were a little unlucky that an improved second half performance did not yield any reward at Highbury on Monday night.
Trailing to a Jose Antonio Reyes strike on 22 minutes, the boys got a better grip on the game in the second period and piled forward in search of a leveller in the closing stages. Substitute Robbie Keane so nearly clinched it for us when he connected with a superb Andy Reid cross with three minutes remaining, but his headed effort dropped just wide with Jens Lehmann stranded.
"It is disappointing, you come here and you know it is not an easy place to come," reflected the skipper after the game. "You hope to play well, have a bit of luck on the night and get something.
"They dominated us in the first half and we came out and had a go in the second. It wasn't good enough in the end. We struggled to cope with their movement in the first and had to sort a few things out during half time. It seemed to work a little bit better in the second half.
"They are a good side, but I think we possibly showed them a little too much respect at times and they played around us.
"We kept going though, it was only 1-0 and we know we've got players who can score goals in the team."
While it was not to be on this occasion, Ledley insists picking up spirits for the visit of Aston Villa to the Lane on Sunday will not prove to be a problem.
"I don't think it is going to be difficult, there are still points to play for and we'd love to get into Europe. The motivation is there, we have to pick ourselves up. We are at home and we have to get the three points, it is as simple as that."
