Ledley urged to up the volume

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle says that the next stage of Ledley King's development is to become a noisier presence on the pitch.

The boss does not want to rush the process, and explains that he is more than happy with Ledley's game, but one day he wants to see our rising star 'boss people about'.

"The good thing about Ledley is he is a level headed lad who wants to learn," said Glenn. "He is one of those lads who gets on nice and quietly, probably too quietly. I want him to come out and be a bit more demonstrative and work on his communication skills, which will happen as he gets more experience.

"He is a lad that if you tell him something you only have to tell him once because you see it on that Saturday afternoon. What you've tried to explain to him he then goes out and implements it. I think that's interesting because then you've really got a chance of improving as a player.

"Some players have trouble doing that, but Ledley's got that skill.

"We've got to get him more comfortable talking. He can be as quiet as he wants in the restaurant and travelling - he's usually got his earphones on anyway.

"It's trying to make him change his personality a little bit when he's out on that pitch. Trying to make him more communicative and boss people about. He's doing okay at the moment, I don't want to go too far too quickly with him, I just want to nurse him along."

Glenn feels that all this will come with time, and he does a change to affect Ledley's natural style that is working so well.

"He's playing so well, we don't want to imbalance him - this is over the next two or three years, not the next two or three games."
