Supporters were out in force as Ledley King graced the grand opening of our new Spurs Shop in Chelmsford this morning (Friday 1 December).
The legendary former defender and captain, now a Club Ambassador, was on hand to cut the ribbon as the new store in High Chelmer Shopping Centre opened its doors for the first time at 10am.
Fans flocked to the venue to get their hands on our Club merchandise and meet Ledley in person, with the 2008 League Cup-winning skipper kept busy for some three hours, signings autographs and having photos taken with delighted visitors.
"It was fantastic to be at the grand opening of the new Spurs Shop in Chelmsford and meet some of our supporters," said Ledley.
"Essex is a real hotbed of Spurs fans and it's great for them to have a local shop in Chelmsford where they can buy their club merchandise conveniently and in time for Christmas.
"I really enjoyed meeting some of the locals who came to the store opening – it's another example of the amazing fan base that we have at this club."
As we continue to celebrate the opening of the branch, two more legendary former players will be in attendance along with club mascot Chirpy over the weekend. On Saturday, former striker and coach Clive Allen will be at the store in person to meet supporters between 12pm and 2pm, with another 1980s goal machine, Mark Falco, doing likewise on Sunday, also between 12pm and 2pm.
