Ledley King ended his most recent visit to China at the end of last week by supporting AIA initiatives in the southern cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The Club Ambassador joined members of our Global Coaching team, Tony Tillbrook and Ross Embleton, to deliver a football coaching clinic for around 40 young children in Guangzhou on Friday.
Underprivileged children from the countryside were invited to the city by our global partner’s charitable programme to team up with children of AIA Guangzhou staff for a series of activities over two days.
This included a visit to the AIA offices and to the famous Canton Tower, home of the world’s highest observation deck, standing at 600m.
Ledley and the coaches joined the youngsters for all activities, culminating in a fun football coaching session enjoyed by all involved – especially when Ledley took on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge set to him by former team-mate, Jermain Defoe!
Then it was onto Shenzhen, where Ledley and the coaches were special guests at an AIA Football Carnival, attended by around 1,000 people.
Activities included Ledley, Tony and Ross taking part in a chopstick challenge and a charity football match alongside AIA staff and members of the audience.
