Ledley rewards participants at UCL Presentation Evening

Club Ambassador Ledley King joined participants from Tottenham Hotspur’s Development programme at UCL Academy for this year’s presentation evening at the Lane.

Ledley presented certificates and awards to two groups of 15 boys aged between 11 and 13 from UCL Academy, recognising their success upon completion of the six-month-long programme.

Designed to encourage pupils with an interest in football to develop their skills at a grassroots level, the programme sees participants released from curriculum lessons twice a week to receive high quality football coaching from Tottenham Hotspur Global Coaches.

All participants undertook trials to access one of two squads – Foundation and Level 1 – delivered to pupils at UCL Academy. Following an age appropriate framework, participants are given the opportunity to develop as a player, gain valuable experience and take part in regular friendly fixtures against other development programmes delivered by the Foundation within the local community.

Andy Rogers, Global Coaching Manager at Tottenham Hotspur Global Coaching, said: “We are delighted with this year’s partnership with UCL Academy. This exciting opportunity has created unique learning opportunities and developed pathways for young players under the guidance of the Tottenham Hotspur Coaching Programmes team. We hope to build on the partnership next year and offer the programme to more students.”

Tottenham Hotspur Global Coaching Team is proud to work closely with its partners at UCL Academy, offering football skills courses and training programmes to 11 to 13-year-olds.
