Ledley ready

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Ledley King says that the team are now very much focused on the Carling Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough after the weekend setback at Newcastle.

Ledley, inadvertently, played a central role in sparking the Newcastle tidal wave when, along with Anthony Gardner, he tussled with Shola Ameobi on the edge of the area and his clearance was met full on the volley by Laurent Robert for the first of his two stunning goals.

"Before I had the chance to look up the ball was more or less in the back of the net," he reflected back at Spurs Lodge on Monday. "It was an amazing strike, as was his second, and it did for us in a way and put us on the back foot. They went on from there.

"In the first half we thought we were playing some good football and it was a bit of a body blow for them to pull something out of the hat like that. Then he went and did it again in the second half and, like I said, it was hard to come back from that."

A Cup night at the Lane now looms and Ledley hopes that the Newcastle experience is now out of the team's system.

"We've had a meeting, spoken about it and we can't let it happen again this season. Our thoughts are now on Wednesday and we are looking forward to that game now.

"We might need to be patient against Middlesbrough. When we played them at home before it was a 0-0 draw, but hopefully we can do better this time. We are confident at home and hopefully we can get at them early and they find it hard to cope with it.

"It is a great opportunity for us to get into a semi-final and we are looking forward to it."
