Ledley credit

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

There is one topic that seems to crop up whenever Glenn gives a press briefing - the stunning progress of Ledley King.

Leds turned in another fine performance against Arsenal on Saturday and the watching press corps were keen to make comparisions between the our young star and his former captain Sol Campbell.

Understandably, Glenn's only concern is the continued development of our England under-21 player.

"In many ways you can talk and talk and talk about Ledley," said Glenn. "I think what you should do is look how he performed and he has been performing like that week in week out.

"I've said many, many things about Ledley, we've got to develop him still, he's still got to improve but, my word, if he keeps putting in performances like that - against top class performers as well...

"He's not just doing it against the lesser teams, he's putting it in against the top class teams in the division.

"He can achieve whatever he wants to achieve - he really can."

When pressed, Glenn did briefly discuss the attributes of Spurs past and present.

"Sol's got the experience and presence about him, and he's stronger in the air. There are a lot of strengths that Sol's got, but Ledley is stronger in other departments.

"It is an interesting development we've got on our hands because I thought, today, he was well above anything on the pitch playing in his position.

"You can play him in any position along that back line."

Meanwhile, Glenn also expressed delight at the impact made by Sergei Rebrov after coming off the bench and explains that substitutes must seek to make an impact.

"I was good to see Sergei come on. I appreciate he wants to start, but I've said to him many times, if you're going to be sub you have to go on and affect the game. This was the first time he has come off the bench and affected it.

"Let's be fair, that late stage of the game with such tension, the whole stadium's eyes are on you and you know you've got a chance of delivering a cross. It was all about the cross, Gus's reaction and a little bit of good fortune by the keeper was down to other people.

"Sergei produced a super cross and there was a lot of pressure on him. That's what you need from your subs."
