Ledley back at the Lane

Mon 05 May 2014, 13:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Ledley King was thrilled to step back out at White Hart Lane to take part in Open Training on Monday.

The legendary former skipper and now Club Ambassador continues to step up his preparations for his Testimonial match at the Lane on Monday.

Open Training was part of his regime and he was welcomed back into the fold first by the players and then thousands of fans who enjoyed the occasion in the sun on Bank Holiday Monday.

"It's the first time I've trained for two years, although having said that, it's more like seven years!" smiled Ledley.

"I feel good. It was great to be back out there with the lads and I was delighted to have the opportunity to train back on the pitch at White Hart Lane and in front of the fans.

"I was able to have a session on my own as well and it's all geared to getting my fitness right for Monday."

Ledley quickly paid tribute to the supporters. "They've always been there for me and stood by me through the ups and downs, from my debut at Liverpool all the way through to my last game.

"I can't thank them all enough and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to say one final goodbye to them all at my Testimonial on Monday."
